clothing brands for people with wide hips?

I’m usually a 4 to a 6 in most brands and that usually fits very well around the leg. but these pants often are too tight around my hips and give me muffin top. if i try anything bigger on it looks way to big around my legs. as you can imagine, my hips make fitting into jeans, pants and skirts difficult at times. so i was just wondering if anyone knew some good clothing brands that have wider waistbands to accomodate wider hips. keep in mind that i dont have an average sized butt so jeans made for “curvy” women might not work very well. thanks for any help!

Where can i get 31 length pants/jeans?

My pants are always slightly too long and get frayed, or slightly too short. Without paying for hemming, i would like to find some 31 lenth pants. Anyone know where to look? Someone had told me the Gap, but that hasn’t worked out.

That is a non-standard length in men’s pants…but usually dept. stores will hem for free or a small fee (around $5-6). Some stores, such as J crew, sell pants online that come unhemmed. This makes the work slightly easier to hem them up, and it’s possible that a tailor will charge less if they are unhemmed to begin with. Also, my father is very short, and he was able to get a volume discount on his pants by taking them all to the same lady. Also, hemming is not hard–do you have any friends that sew? You could maybe trade favors with them. It’s really basic in terms of sewing construction.
