80s Fancy Dress tips

If you take a look at the music industry’s fashion of the 1980s it will give you plenty of pointers for your 80s fancy dress.

Body shape – health and fitness were the rage and took over from skinny.  It was fashionable to have a body shape and keep it in shape.  The eighties gave us the workout video (and also beta!!)and many TV and film stars produced their own exercise regime for the screen.  headbands became a fashion item after Olivia Newton John released her ‘Lets get physical’ video.   If you can carry off the Olivia Newton John outfit of headband, lycra pants and top, with acrylic leg warmers then go for an  80s fancy dress to stun them all!  It’s a fun look and who knows may start you off an exercise regime!! 

jeans – People still remember the Levi jean advert in 1985 when Nick Kamen stripped off his 501’s in the launderette.  This Levi jean advert helped promote the blue jeans and we all started spending over £20 for our jeans!
A pair of Levis with trainers can be a very easy 80s fancy dress if you want to keep your outfit low key.  Ladies can top it off with a soft ruffled blouse romantic style and the men can wear the Miami Vice no collar style shirt and sneakers.

New Romantics -The New Romantic look that was styled by Vivienne Westwood used frills for a softer look. Princess Diana, Duran Duran and Adam Ant often wore new romantics.  This moved on to become the pirate look of the 80s fashion. The men wore waistbands, cummerbunds and jackets with velvet lapels.

The 1980s fashion cover a wide range of outfits.  All you have to do is decide what you costume want wear. Madonna, Adam Ant, Jeans and sneakers or Olivia Newton John, they’re all fun and will look fabulous.

clothing (jeans) brands that are of similar quality to diesel, 7 for mankind, but not as expensive?

i have recently grown tired and bored of all my baggy clothes mainly because the way they fit is not comfortable anymore and the style is just sloppy-looking. i am interested in other brands, but if you know where i can get diesel, true religion jeans at a reasonable price($50-$60) possibly wholesale that would help too.

How much designer clothing is okay for a teen?

I know a young teen who owns a pair of true religions, a pair of sevens, a pair of joe’s jeans, a juicy jacket, several pairs of ugg boots, several north face coats and lots of lacoste, ralph lauren, and abercrombie kids clothing. Is this too much for a kid?

well… kinda but not really yesterday i had on a t-shirt and true religon jeans and converses… i try 2 mix my nice clothing, like my uggs with plain stuff. then people dont think ur a showoff

Ways to cut big tee-shirt to make it cuter/fit better?

I got an I <3 NY shirt when I was in New York City last week but the smallest size they had is pretty big on me. Not huge, but just kinda baggy like any non-fitted t-shirt.

I’ve done this before.

I cut off the neckline. This makes the fabric roll around a bit and gives an edgier vibe to the top.

Then I cut a straight line all the way up the back of the top, so it is cut in half. Then cut horizontally about 6 strips, though don’t cut them off the rop- stop once you get to the side seam.

Then you can tie the two sides together using the strips.

You have some pretty clever lines (See Outside a Charity shop begging for jeans lol)

You can work your way up to the 9 range by improving two things:

1st mix up all ur “ene” rhymes with some other rhymes. It makes it flow better.
2nd try and throw in some multi-syllable rhymes. Except for “or beans” and “for genes” all ur rhymes are the boring one syllable variety.

Also- this is little, but you said “my words aren’t always clean” but u don’t have any swear words in the song…
