Need help measuring my waist to buy clothes online!?

Ok, well I am a petite girl, i fit into clothes size 6-8 and i look small. So why when I measure around my waist it says im 30 inches which is a UK 14! And thats with the tape measure around tight. I have a pair of size 8 jeans that are too big, so im deffinately not size 14, so am I measuring myself wrong?

Where exactly are you measuring. You need to measure around the natural waistline about an inch above the belly button. If it is still 30 inches, my only guess is you have small hips and bust.

Technically 30 inches is a size 14.

You also have to remember that the waist measurement for some clothing may sometimes by more, because of certain fits such as hipster or low rise jeans/trousers. So technically, this wouldn’t really be a waist measurement, but more a measurement of between the navel/hips. You could have a 25 inch waist, but because of the fit, the waist may be labelled as 28 inches or more.

Yes, it a bit complicated lol, but I would worry too much.

Ok check it out……its not about HOT pants it about jeans….I wan to get my jeans (which are Paper jeans, mucho $$$) hemed , shortened like 2 inches. Ive taken some Deisel jeans in, and they like folded them under, and put a stich, and they are fine. But they dont look like they were, the bottom hem looking now on all jeans has a like RIPPLED/distressed/light blue dark blue look. ( look at the bottom hem of any LEVIS ot jeans and you will know what Im talking about.

It sounds like you need to have the old hem hand picked out then trimmed, then sewn again. After that, you will need to redistress the area to make it match. I’ve seen this done with bleaching products, or with dremel tools/sandpaper to provide the look of wear.
